Senior Enterprise Data Engineer
Design the canonical enterprise data model and the pipelines that feed it from ERP, PLM, MES, warehouse and planning systems. Own master data and entity resolution for suppliers, customers, parts and sites.
About the role
We are looking for a senior data engineer with hands-on industry experience in enterprise data. You know how manufacturing and supply-chain businesses run on ERP, PLM, MES, warehouse and planning systems, and how the data in those systems connects, conflicts and breaks.
Responsibilities
Data Model & Pipelines
- Design and maintain a canonical enterprise data model, and map it to the data models of ERP, PLM, MES, warehouse, planning, procurement, logistics, quality and warranty systems.
- Build and run reliable, tested pipelines that ingest data from business systems through APIs, database extracts, change data capture, EDI and documents.
- Work with industry data-exchange formats for orders, shipments, invoices, quality notifications and product data.
Master Data & Quality
- Own master data and entity resolution for suppliers, customers, parts and sites across systems and business units.
- Detect and handle real-world data quality issues: duplicate masters, unit and currency mismatches, local codes, and late or missing records.
- Build realistic reference and test datasets that reflect how enterprise systems actually hold data.
Product & Engineering Partnership
- Advise product and engineering on how buyers, planners and quality engineers use their data.
Qualifications
Requirements
- 5+ years of data engineering experience on enterprise data, at a manufacturer, supplier, distributor or logistics provider, or at a systems integrator or consultancy serving them.
- Deep knowledge of at least one major ERP data model, and working knowledge of others.
- Strong understanding of procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, plan-to-produce, bills of material, inventory, quality and warranty processes at the data level.
- Hands-on experience with master data management and entity resolution.
- Strong SQL and Python; experience with data warehouse or lakehouse modelling, transformation and orchestration tools, and CI for data pipelines.
- Experience integrating business systems through APIs, database extracts and EDI.
- Clear written and verbal communication with both technical and business stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience with PLM, MES, warehouse or transport management system data.
- Experience with EDI, e-invoicing, or industry data-exchange and digital-twin standards.
- Experience with multi-tier supplier, traceability or supply-chain risk data.
- Background in trade compliance, sanctions screening, material compliance or sustainability data.
- Experience with knowledge graphs or ontologies.
- Experience using LLMs to extract information from business documents.
